Picking the right tool for the job – making Prezi work for you

Last week, a coworker gave a presentation on hand hygiene using Prezi. Hand hygiene although important isn’t that inspiring a topic. In fact, I’ll hold my head in my hands if I see another training video of a nurse excitedly washing their hands!

However, the Prezi presentation on hand hygiene was different. The tool allowed my coworker to navigate through the topic, zooming in on the important issues and panning out to show the bigger picture. The presentation was extremely well-received.

It reminded me that picking the right tool for the job is crucial. Of course, Prezi isn’t always the right tool. But it does offer something that Powerpoint doesn’t and people are beginning to use the tool without making the audience seasick!
